Frequently asked questions.
How long are therapy sessions?
Therapy sessions are usually 1 hour long. However, for those interested in more intensive therapy, sessions can be booked in longer blocks (e.g., 2-3 hour sessions)
I've never done therapy before. What can I expect?
The first 1-2 sessions involve an intake, during which I ask about the kinds of difficulties you would like help with, inquire about other areas of potential difficulty and ask some background information to get to know you a bit better. From there, we can come up with a plan for therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to see whether you feel comfortable working with me and my approach to therapy.
What about payment for sessions?
Sessions can be paid by Interac e-transfer. Receipts are available for insurance and tax purposes. Please call 514-755-1184 to find out about current fees.
How many sessions do I need?
The number of sessions and length of time in therapy depend on a variety of factors, including the nature of the presenting problem, your goals and progress in therapy. We can discuss the likely number of sessions needed after the intake.
